3 day stone-setting intensive workshop
with Marcus Foley at oneofftwo STUDIOS

Dates to be announced

Come along and join in a small class of 4 participants to be taught tips and tricks that apply directly to your faceted stone bezel setting and your jewellery making in general during this 3 day intensive collet bezel setting workshop. Progress your skill level and take the appearance of your bezel setting of round and square faceted stones to a higher standard.

Cast silver settings and synthetic stones will be provided so bring along a few silver shanks so we will be able to quickly get into the setting itself. You should during the course of the workshop complete one of both round and square settings.

Oneofftwo STUDIOS is located in the beautiful parkland of Mayday Hills just 1km out of Beechworth's historic town center. Marcus has nearly 40 years experience in this field and has previously conducted workshops at various institutions and studios around Australia.

NOTE: This workshop is not for novices that have no setting experience. It is especially for makers that want to improve their bezel setting skills and learn to use a hammer hand piece.

Traveling?

For those of you looking for accommodation Beechworth offers a myriad of options.
Within the Mayday Hills parkland and only a short walk from our studio, there is a great little cottage and also the Grand Oaks Resort and the Linaker Art Deco Motel.
In Beechworth, 1km away, the options include motels, hotels, two caravan parks and many home stays or airbnbs.

If your partner is lucky enough to be traveling with you then they will have plenty to occupy their time whilst you are busy in the workshop.
Beechworth provides plenty of outdoorsy activities. From bush-walking and cycling, to lake and river fishing or gold panning and fossiking in the many creeks and gullies.
The cycling is truly stunning throughout the North East, whether on the road or in the forests, there is a surfeit of options from the brilliant alpine sealed roads to the gentle rail trails or gravel roads. And then there is of course the brilliant nearby MTB parks and trails.

Testimonials from previous workshop participants:-

Thank you so much Marcus for the excellent workshop over the weekend at SquarePeg Studios! I learned loads and had a great time under you fantastic tutelage. Thank you!! Heres a lil pic: more polishing & finishing still to be done, but gives an idea of my outcome.

I learnt so much about the finer points of stone-setting using techniques refined by Marcus. Under the close supervision provided I gained confidence in using a graver and a hammer hand piece. It is not often that a teacher is so generous with his time and attention. We got to see his work up close and personal. The workshop was really great and the location divine, even better when combined with a holiday.
